What to Read on“Read A Book Day”

September 6th. It is the National Read A Book Day! Some would possibly have no idea about this day and they could even wonder why it is necessary to have such a day. As you know, we have already the most famous World Book Day on April 23th to promote the awareness on reading, publication and copyright, and unofficially. In January, the annually National Reading Day encourages young children to read, celebrated in thousands of schools all around the United States. To remind people of the happiness of reading and family participation, Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.) is a special day to celebrate the birthday of Beverly Cleary, the well-known American author of children's and young adult fiction, which is on April 12th. And, We have a August 9th for bookworms in the world to celebrate Book Lovers Day. You will even find a Free Comic Book Day in each May, which was rolled out by North American comic book industry, for the promotion for independent comic book stores. And, don’t forget the National Coloring Book Day on August 2nd, which was founded in 1941 and have got popular for it to promote the stress reliever for both children and adult.

So, why bother getting another one, since they are so similar? Because sometime you do need a push and it does no harm to you at all!

The funny thing is, such a symbolic occasion could trigger busy people’impulse, adding one more interesting excuse for everyone to find something to read. No matter these days are for spirit inspiration or marketing strategy, reading is still a happy thing for human being. Reading in modern day plays a role as a tranquilizer for the soul.

The Read A Book Day is a pretty new occasion, which appeared at early 2000s, with the positive idea to encourage young people to read. As all other celebration for readers, it is by no means compulsory although it requires readers to accomplish a small but challenging task: to grab a book and finish reading it in one day. Readers could choose fiction or non-fiction as long as they are comfortable enough to rest their soul in.

If you don’t have any bookshelf by your side when you are reading this artilce, don’t worry because you still have your computer, tablet or cellphone, right?
